Comedian Ray Canale will perform at the opening of four shows, including one that takes place today in Western New York.
Mr. Canale, a Watertown native, will open for The Four Aces and The Four Lads at a 2 p.m. show this afternoonat the Riviera Theater, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.The show will be conducted by John Hollenbeck. Mr. Canale also will open two shows on June 30 at the same theater. The first show, at 2 p.m., features vocalist Gino Caruso, who is coming from Rome, Italy. The second show, at 7:30 p.m., features singer Julius LaRosa of New York City. A Buffalo-area band will accompany Mr. LaRosa. Tickets are $20 for either show and may be purchased by calling Anthony at 1 (716) 892-1174.
Mr. Canale again will do standup to open this year'sOne World Foundation fundraising concert at Bonnie Castle, Alexandria Bay, in September. The 8 p.m. Sept. 18 production will feature Forever Young, the Rod Stewart Tribute Band. Special 'Gold' tickets ($50) will include a boat cruise before the show and a hors doeuvres reception with the performers after the show. General admission tickets are $30. Mr. Canale, a Watertown native, also says he hopes to open for Frank Sinatra tribute singer Steve Lipia at the Seneca-Niagara Casino, Niagara Falls, sometime in the fall. Mr. Lipia performed in a Jefferson Community College baseball team fundraising concert two years ago in Watertown.
