Hammond residents who are interested in finding out more about wind issues can hear firsthand tonight what it's like to live in the middle of an industrial wind turbine project from people who will share their experiences.
The meeting with people from the Cohocton area (near the Finger Lakes) is being held at the Hammond Community Center on Main Street beginning at 7 p.m. It is sponsored by the Concerned Residents of Hammond group to provide educational information for residents who are interested in learning about all the issues that surround wind energy development.
Cohocton's industrial wind project has been operating since December 2008, and residents have firsthand knowledge of what life is like living next to a project 24 hours a day and are willing to share their experiences.
Concerned Residents of Hammond hopes the community will take the time to attend. It is an opportunity to look at all sides of the issues and have questions answered by people with experience. Please bring an open mind and a friend or neighbor with you.
