DEXTER — State police have identified the body found Friday afternoon in the Black River as Christopher D. Glennon, 46, of 14839 County Route 59, in Dexter.

An autopsy was performed Saturday, but a cause of death could not be determined until toxicology results are returned. State police said Mr. Glennon's death does not appear to be a result of foul play.

Four teenagers — two girls and two boys — discovered the body near the shore of the Black River near Maynard Drive in the village.

Family members had not seen Mr. Glennon since April 28, but had not reported him missing, state police said.

While the circumstances around Mr. Glennon's death still have not been solved, it appears he has spent a fair amount of time around the river. Times records showed a run-in last year with the state Department of Environment Conservation about fishing without a license. In 1989, Mr. Glennon and a fishing buddy were treated for hypothermia after the car they drove onto a frozen section of the Black River began to sink into the icy water near Fish Island.
