Pinch-runner Jerry Coleman scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Watertown Wizards a 10-9 victory over Saratoga in a New York Collegiate Baseball League game Friday at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
In another wild matchup where eight pitchers were used and seven errors were committed, Watertown (2-0) scored the game's final two runs in the last two innings. Neiko Johnson scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth inning to knot the score at 8-8.
The Phillies (1-1) constructed a 4-0 lead through the first four innings. But Brandon Williams highlighted a six-run fifth inning for the Wizards with a two-run home run.
Mike Augustine's two-run triple in the eighth inning helped Saratoga regain a one-run lead before surrendering two more runs to Watertown. Augustine recorded a game-high three RBIs.
Johnson and Billy Burgess drove in a pair of runs for the Wizards. John Pedrotty surrendered one hit in 12/3 innings of relief to earn the victory.
Watertown hits the road for the first time tonight, playinag at Glens Falls.
The Wizards then return home Sunday, hosting Albany at 7 p.m.
