Police accuse six of DWI

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Michael E. Enslow, 31, of 5656 Maple Ave., Lowville, was charged by state police with felony DWI, resisting arrest and refusal to submit to a breath test at 2:30 a.m. Friday on Snell Road in the town of Watson. He was arraigned in town of Watson Court and was placed in Lewis County jail, Lowville, under $1,000 bail. A felony is charged when the motorist has a conviction for DWI within 10 years. Mr. Enslow was arrested Feb. 7, 2008, in Lowville on a DWI count.

■ Henry R. Carter Jr., 26, of 722 W. Main St., Apt. 3, Watertown, also was charged by Watertown police at 2:10 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Emerson Street with driving without a license and having inadequate lights. Police listed his breath test result as 0.15 percent blood alcohol content. State law establishes 0.08 percent BAC as the threshold for intoxication.

■ Peter J. Christian, 51 of 82 Morrey Road, Dickinson Center, was charged with aggravated DWI following a traffic stop about 8 p.m. Thursday on St. Ann Street in St. Regis Falls, state police said. He was pulled over for moving unsafely from his lane. His BAC was 0.22 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

■ Victor A. James, 50, of 215 N. Indiana Ave., Watertown, was arrested by state police at 10:50 p.m. Thursday at Huntington and Logan streets in Watertown. He tested at 0.16 percent BAC, police said.

■ Lars P. Mitchell, 22, of 4 Johnson Road, Hogansburg, was charged by state police at 2:33 a.m. Saturday after a traffic stop on Route 37B in the town of Massena. He also was charged with driving on the shoulder of the road and having a suspended license. His BAC was not available.

■ Joseph A. Kelly, 47, of Lisbon, was charged by state police after a traffic stop on the Potsdam-Morley Road in the town of Canton at 12:40 a.m. Saturday. His BAC was not available.
