Police charge 8 people with drunken driving

The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Norman J. Fuhrman, 23, Apopka, Fla., was stopped at 1:21 a.m. Sunday on Route 283 in the town of LeRay. Jefferson County sheriff's deputies said he was traveling more than 20 miles over the posted 55 mph speed limit, and his blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, which exceeds the 0.08 percent threshold for intoxication.

■ Jessica L. LaBarge, 25, Doran Road, Copenhagen, was arrested by state police at 2 a.m. Wednesday at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.

Times records indicate Ms. LaBarge also was charged with DWI in January 2006 after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a parked car in the city of Watertown. Further information about Wednesday's charge was not available.

■ Christopher M. Trowbridge, 28, Lowville, was stopped by state police Saturday morning on Route 12 in the town of Harrisburg. A BAC was unavailable Sunday.

■ Leanna M. Intorcia, 31, Carthage, was stopped by state police at 3:24 a.m. Sunday on Bridge Street in the village of West Carthage. She also is charged with second-degree harassment.

■ Brendan B. Hopkins, 38, of Delray Beach, Fla., was charged with aggravated DWI after a traffic stop by Potsdam village police at 3 a.m. Sunday on Pierrepont Avenue in the town of Potsdam. He had a BAC of 0.19 percent, police said. The threshold for aggravated DWI under state law is 0.18 percent. Mr. Hopkins also was charged with failure to signal a turn and refusal to take a breath test.

■ Michael C. Trickler, 30, Waterloo, was charged by state police after a traffic stop at 12:50 a.m. Sunday on County Route 27 in the town of Canton.

■ Noah J. Tyo, 22, Parishville, was arrested by state police Saturday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where he has been recovering from a car accident that took place at 4:20 a.m. May 23. He also was charged with failure to keep right and not wearing a seat belt. He was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and released.

■ Eric W. Thompson, 22, of 471A Lacomb Road, Norfolk, also was charged by Massena village police with leaving the scene of an accident at 12:43 a.m. Saturday.

Police said he struck a parked car in front of Massena Town Hall just after midnight Saturday and later was found to be intoxicated at the corner of Clary and Maple streets in the village. His BAC was not released.

Mr. Thompson also was charged with failure to use the designated lane and not wearing a seat belt.
