Two motorists facing alcohol or drug charges

Brendan B. Hopkins, 38, Delray Beach, Fla., was charged early Sunday with aggravated driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a roadside breath test and failure to signal a turn.

Potsdam village police said Mr. Hopkins had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent when he was pulled over for failing to signal as he turned into the driveway of a Pierrepont Avenue residence.

Charged with driving while under the influence of drugs:

■ Joshua S. Alexander, 25, of 6430 Number Four Road, Lowville, was arrested shortly after 9 a.m. Monday by village police. Police said he was found sleeping in his vehicle while it was in driving gear in the parking lot at Lowville Plaza, Route 26. He is serving a sentence of three years' probation that was given him in October in Lewis County Court for petit larceny.
