A Watertown man was sentenced Monday in Jefferson County Court to two years in state prison for trying to have sexual contact with a girl under the age of 11.
Patrick S. Calhoun,43, address not available, also will have to undergo eight additional years of supervision upon his release from prison for a May 1 guilty plea to second-degree attempted course of sexual conduct against a child.
He entered his plea in May using an Alford plea, meaning he did not admit to all of the underlying facts of the case, but was pleading guilty to avoid the possibility of a harsher sentence if convicted of the crime at trial.
He was accused in a grand jury indictment in December of engaging in two or more sexual acts with a 6-year-old girl between September 2007 and May 2008.
