MASSENA — A 19-year-old man already charged with sex crimes was accused Wednesday of raping another teenage girl.

Justin M. Mendies, 104 Stoughton Ave., was charged with felony first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment, a village police investigator said.

He is accused of going through a window into a 14-year-old girl's bedroom on several occasions in March to have sex with her.

He also is accused of chaining her to a pole and attempting to have sex with her, but she fought him off, Investigator Jason M. Olson said.

Mendies was arraigned in Village Court before Justice James T. Crandall and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.

On Tuesday, he was charged with third-degree rape and misdemeanor child endangerment for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl at his home June 9 and taking pictures of her nude. He was arraigned on those charges in Village Court and released to probation supervision. He is represented by attorney Virginia A. Gettmann.
