Linda M. Powers

Mrs. Linda M. Powers, age 59, of Crary Mills, NY passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Home. Calling hours will be on Monday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the Garner Funeral Home at 10am with Msgr. John R. Murphy celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Crary Mills Cemetery. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley or to the American Cancer Society.

Linda is survived by her husband Mark Powers; her mother Lois Harter; daughter Stacie and Aloysius Locy Jr.; son Darren Powers; brother Donald Harter, Asheboro, N.C.; grandchildren Nicholas, Ellaina and Kaeden Locy and several nieces and nephew. She is predeceased by her father Earl Harter.

Linda was born on January 25, 1950 in Watertown, NY to Earl Pete Harter and Lois Hoke. She graduated from Copenhagen Central School in 1968 and the Watertown School of Commerce in 1979. On August 11, 1973 at the Congregational Church in Rutland, NY she was married to Mark Powers. She worked for Wager Construction Company, Barton Builders Construction and then was the tax collector for the village of Potsdam from 1985 till the present.
