Virginia R. Girard

FELTS MILLS — Virginia Ruth Girard, 87, of 30200 Rt. # 283, died Saturday evening, June 20th, in the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Carthage Area Hospital where she resided for one month.

Mrs. Girard was born in Tupper Lake on December 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Orville and Corrine Gauthier Trudeau. She was a 1942 graduate of Tupper Lake High School. A marriage to Raymond I. Girard ended in divorce. Mrs. Girard was the owner and operator of several businesses in the area, namely Club Escapade, Girard Real Estate, a motel and the Cup and Saucer Diner.

Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Thomas A. and Chris Girard of Adams, two Granddaughters and a Great Grandson, and her sister, Dorothy Kepler, who lives in Great Bend.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage with the Rev. John J. Cosmic of St. James Church officiating. Burial will be in the Black River Cemetery. A calling hour from 1-2pm will precede the funeral service.
