Fort Drum soldier killed in attack in Afghanistan

Two 10th Mountain Division soldiers, including one from Fort Drum, were killed Sunday by indirect fire from enemy forces in Bagram, Afghanistan.

The Fort Drum soldier killed was Spc. Rodridgo A. Munguiarivas, 27, a driver, of Germantown, Md., who deployed with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team about January. He served in B Company, 710th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.

Spc. Munguiarivas joined the active-duty Army in April 2008 and came to Fort Drum in July. He is survived by his mother and stepfather.

Sgt. Ricky D. Jones, 26, Plantersville, Ala., died in the same attack. He was assigned to the 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Polk, La.
