Norfolk man indicted on assault charge

CANTON — A Norfolk man was indicted Monday by a St. Lawrence County grand jury for allegedly hitting another man on the head with a wooden board.

Devon Apgar, 21, of 1989 County Route 38, faces a felony second-degree assault charge. He is accused of hitting Nicholas Fiacco on April 21 in Norfolk.

The grand jury also returned indictments against the following:

Dean Washburn, 33, of 317 Kiah St., Ogdensburg, was charged with forcible touching, a misdemeanor. He's accused of inappropriately touching a female July 2 in Ogdensburg.

Orion Padamonsky, 17, of 2477 County Route 5, Hammond, was charged with felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

He is accused of stealing a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle valued at about $5,000 between September and November from a town of Canton home.

Christopher A. Sawyer, 33, of 101 New York Ave., Apt. 4, was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny and two counts of intimidating a witness.

He is accused of breaking into Claude Smith's room at 834 Ford St. on Dec. 14 and stealing several Darvocet pills. He also reportedly threatened Mr. Smith twice.

Gregory A. Brabant, 29, of 326 Proctor Ave., Ogdensburg, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

He is accused of damaging Brittney J. Brenno's vehicle on Oct. 26 and Sharon Patterson's car on Dec. 14, both in the city of Ogdensburg.

Justin Leroux, 26, of 128 Leroy St., Potsdam, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated.

He is accused of driving drunk when he was stopped Feb. 18 on Waverly Street in the village of Potsdam. He was convicted of DWI Jan. 31, 2008, in St. Lawrence County Court and March 2, 2005, in Lake Placid Village Court.

William Cardinell, 50, andChristopher P. Jacobs, 39, both of Syracuse, were each charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Both were accused of possessing about 5 pounds of marijuana when stopped Jan. 28 in the town of Madrid.

Donna J. Jarvis, 47, of 64 Douglas Road, Massena, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana. She is accused of possessing about 46 pounds of marijuana when stopped Jan. 1 in the town of Madrid.
