Fewer properties will be available at the city of Watertown's annual tax sale certificate auction being held at 10 a.m. today.

Comptroller James E. Mills said Wednesday afternoon that he expects 147 parcels, valued at $362,125, to be auctioned. Last year, 150 parcels worth $273,714 were auctioned.

Included on the list this year will be four parcels worth $69,331 owned by MGNH Inc., Lake Katrine, the parent company of Mercy Hospital.

Properties auctioned Monday owe back taxes from either the city, Jefferson County or Watertown City School District for the 2008-09 fiscal year. The certificates issued to bidders act as liens against the property.

The auction will be held in the third floor chambers at City Hall, 245 Washington St.
