Lucille Grinstead

MASSENA — A Mass of Christian Burial for Lucille P. Grinstead, 74, of 425 Leslie Rd., Massena will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Michael Gaffney officiating.

Friends are invited to call at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St., on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Grinstead passed away on the morning of June 25, 2009 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice.

Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Demetra Smith of North Bangor; daughter, Paula, a resident of the United Helpers Home in Heuvelton, NY; granddaughter, Danielle Smith of Prosperity, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa Sharp, Louise and Bob Fowler, both of Massena, NY, Rita Guilbert of Las Vegas, NV; brothers and sisters-in-law, Conrad and Marie Guilbert and Julian and Nancy Guilbert, both of Massena, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Lucille was born on March 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Real and Aline Marion Guilbert in Massena, NY. She attended Local Schools. Lucille married William Smith on May 12, 1952 in Louisville, NY. William predeceased her on July 15, 1979. She married Robert Grinstead on October 14, 2000 and he predeceased her on July 11, 2005.

Lucille was a well known waitress in the Massena area. She worked for many years at Violi's and the Village Inn. Lucille was also predeceased by her sisters, Claire Premo, Jean Falvo and Annette Carbone. She was also predeceased by her brother, Reginald Guilbert.
