It's too bad that our governor doesn't have the authority to simply dissolve the state Senate, and then schedule a new election to replace every one of them.
Admittedly, we would have to stagger along without a Senate for a while, but we got through most of 2008 paying for two U.S. senators and only getting the services of one, so I guess we could get through this hardship OK. At least stop paying them until they actually do some constructive work.
