St. Lawrence County hit by damaging rainstorm

A severe thunderstorm carrying nickel-size hail knocked down power lines and toppled some trees Friday in St. Lawrence County.

Emergency dispatchers said they received several reports of trees and power lines down in Lisbon, Gouverneur, Norwood, Star Lake and Heuvelton. The strong winds left about 100 households around the county without power, National Grid officials said.
