Walk-off woes: Wizards lose twice on last at-bat

GLENS FALLS — The Watertown Wizards suffered a pair of walk-off losses against Glens Falls in a New York Collegiate Baseball League doubleheader Monday at East Field. The Golden Eagles won the two seven-inning games 4-3 and 6-5 in eight innings.

In the first game, Pat Biserta went 3-for-3 with a solo home run for Watertown (11-10). Brett Botsford added two hits for the Wizards, who led 3-1 going into the bottom of the seventh.

Glens Falls (16-4) trimmed the deficit in half in the seventh by scoring one run on a throwing error by Watertown reliever Ben Marshall. Gary DerHagopian smacked a two-run double to complete the Golden Eagles' comeback.

Brant Jones blasted a three-run homer, and Joey Bowens provided three hits to guide Watertown to a 5-0 lead in the nightcap. But Glens Falls rallied with three runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh. Justin Zumwalde scored on a passed ball with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
