Food and beer sampling scheduled at zoo on Aug. 1

Enjoy wildlife, music and beer tasting outdoors at "Bobcats, Bears and Brews," a special event slated for Aug. 1 at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park. A limited number of tickets go on sale today at the zoo, the Salmon Run Mall service desk and AmeriCu Credit Union locations.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature food samples from local restaurants and unlimited beer tasting. Fourteen breweries will be represented, including many regional selections. Tickets are $40 per person or $35 per person at the group rate, with a minimum of six people, and include live entertainment and a commemorative mug.
