Girl flown to Vt. hospital

after DePeyster ATV crash

DEPEYSTER — A 14-year-old girl from Ontario, N.Y., was listed as stable by a Vermont hospital after she was ejected Monday afternoon from an all-terrain vehicle on West Lake Road, state police said.

The unidentified girl was driving east on the ATV about 1:15 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road. The ATV, which then ran into a utility box, became airborne and hit a barn and brick abutment.

The girl who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the vehicle.

The helmet came off when she was ejected, troopers said. Speed was a factor in the accident.

The girl initially was taken to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, and was flown to Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt., with head and right wrist pain. Troopers declined to release the girl's name.

Oriskany woman accused

of driving while drunk

LAYTON — An Oneida County woman faces a driving while intoxicated charge following a traffic stop here early Sunday.

Cortney M. Mayer, 26, Oriskany, was charged by state police about 4 a.m. Police reports do not show where the traffic stop occurred.

It is alleged that her blood alcohol content was found to be 0.14 percent, which is above the state's minimum BAC level to be considered intoxicated, 0.08 percent. She is due to answer the charge in Town Court.'

Potsdam woman accused

of stealing from employer

CANTON — A former Mountain Mart employee is accused of stealing $378.60 from the cash register since early May.

Meghan E. Henderson, 21, of 203 Raquette Road, Potsdam, was charged Tuesday with petit larceny, village police said.

She was arraigned in Village Court and released on her own recognizance.

Man to answer mischief,

menacing, pot charges

HAMMOND — Gregory M. Lantier, 25, Hammond, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree menacing and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to Ogdensburg state police.

Troopers said Mr. Lantier was involved in a fight Friday night with another man, whose name was not released.

Teen accused of hitting,

kicking 14-year-old girl

A Watertown teenager faces a charge that he repeatedly punched and kicked a 14-year-old girl.

Petro A. Dincol Jr., 16, of 831 Washington St., Apt. 5, was charged by city police Monday night with endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that he struck the unidentified victim in the head, face and back several times with his fist and that he kicked her several times in the stomach, creating a risk of harm. He is to answer the charge in City Court.

Watertown man accused

of creating disturbance

Wilfred E. Tabor Jr., 36, of 24919 Route 126, Apt. 52, was charged by Watertown police early Tuesday with disorderly conduct.

It is alleged he was yelling loudly at 1708 Ohio St. and refused to stop after neighbors came out and asked to him stop. He is to answer the charge in City Court.

Police: Akwesasne man

had fireworks at border

MASSENA — Anthony S. David, 43, of 44 Park St., Akwesasne, Ontario, was charged Saturday with unlawful dealing of fireworks, according to state police.

Mr. David was found with a large box of fireworks in his car at the U.S. port of entry at Massena, troopers said. Though the Seaway International Bridge is closed, residents of the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation can use it to cross into the U.S.

Man accused of grabbing

woman by her throat

LOWVILLE — A Glenfield man faces a charge that he grabbed a village woman by the throat.

Derrick W. Allen, 27, address not available, is charged by village police with second-degree harassment for allegedly grabbing Jennifer Donnelly during a June 21 verbal and physical altercation at her Elm Street residence.

He was issued an appearance ticket for Village Court.

Police: Watertown teen

kept shoving another

Tyler J. McCarger, 16, of 173 Franklin St., Apt. A, was charged by Watertown police at noon Monday with second-degree harassment.

It is alleged that between May 18 and June 1, he repeatedly shoved Janay W. Anderson on purpose at 1335 Washington St., causing annoyance and alarm to the victim.

He was issued an appearance ticket for City Court.

Lowville man charged

over domestic incident

LOWVILLE — Village police on Sunday charged Scott M. Mushtare, 32, Lowville, with second-degree harassment.

Mr. Mushtare allegedly threatened bodily harm to a woman, whom police did not identify, during a domestic dispute. He is to appear in Village Court.

Conduct charge lodged

Watertown police at 2:10 a.m. Sunday charged Michael E. Vaughan, 21, of 10136 4th Armor Division Drive, Fort Drum, with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting outside 1309 State St. He is to appear in City Court.
