Disrespecting flag doesn't represent me

Regarding the Senate photo in the June 24 publication on page 7A, senators are elected to the Senate seats for the people and by the people. They have not represented me (the people) by dishonoring the American flag. No matter who raises the flag or who recites the allegiance, it is still the American flag.

To sit and look bored while it is being honored is being petty, peevish, dishonorable, childish and not representing the people. The senators are there to convey the people's wishes by making laws, not differ over whose party is presenting the proposed law.

Shame on all of them. I sincerely hope this is the last year they will be able to display such childish behavior.
