CAPE VINCENT — A memorial service for James R. Skinner, of Naples, FL and Point Peninsula, NY, will be held July 25 at 2 pm at Riverside Cemetery, Cape Vincent.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Naples Community Hospital on January 25th after a short illness.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War stationed in Texas. After his honorable discharge in the early 1950's he returned to work at Henderson-Johnson Construction Company in Syracuse.

He was an avid deer hunter, pistol and trap shooter enjoying considerable success at all.

Jim built a cottage on Lake Ontario where he and his family spent many happy times.

He was a life long Mason serving as Master of Konosioni Lodge No. 950 in Syracuse as well as District Deputy Grand Master of Onondaga County. His 50 year pin and citation were awarded in June 2008.

Jim leaves behind a loving wife, Elinor, three children Bonnie (David) Kruger, David (Nicole) and William (Kal) as well as five grandsons Eli, Calvin, Zachary, Russel, Robert and granddaughter Katherine and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his immediate family, Jim leaves his beloved extended family at D. Gurrett Construction, Inc., Naples, FL, where he was so happy for the last 20 or so years.

He and his wife were long time members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Naples.

He is greatly missed by his family and friends.

A reception at the Chaumont Masonic Temple will be held immediately after the memorial service.
