Alteri cancels next weekend's football showcase

Immaculate Heart Central football coach Paul Alteri announced the cancellation of the "Frontier Football Showcase" on Thursday.

Alteri cited the lack of response from local coaches as the reason for nixing the inaugural event, which was scheduled for July 10-11. The two-day camp was planned as an opportunity for area players to receive exposure in front of college football coaches from across the state. Alteri spoke with 12 different colleges about the showcase.

After sending out information to 22 local high schools, Alteri said last week that only two schools had signed up.
