DEC reports fines paid in three Northern New York counties

The state Department of Environmental Conservation Region 6 reported the following fines and violations in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties:

ST. LAWRENCE

■ Lloyd J. Bennett, 35, Lisbon, paid a $100 fine for open burning of garbage May 6 in the town of Lisbon. He appeared June 10 in Town Court.

■ Andrew E. Hershberger, 28, Rensselaer Falls, and Enos M. and Levi E. Hershberger, 53 and 25, respectively, Canton, each paid a $50 fine for taking fish by means other than angling March 30 in the town of Canton. They appeared April 21 in Town Court.

■ Brian Johnson, 22, Massena, paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license July 11, 2005, in the town of Louisville. He appeared Feb. 11 in Town Court.

■ Robin S. Lawrence, 44, Colton, paid a $50 fine for failing to check traps every 48 hours as required March 26 in the town of Colton. He appeared June 9 in Town Court.

■ Mark L. Murdock, 37, Ogdensburg, paid a $50 fine for setting traps without tags Jan. 6 in the town of Lisbon. He appeared Feb. 17 in Town Court.

■ Barbara A. Blais, 38, Canton, paid a $25 fine for possessing a raccoon without a permit Jan. 16 in the town of Canton. She appeared March 30 in Town Court.

LEWIS

■ Brandon T. Ayers, 21, Harrisville, spent 15 days in jail for trespassing on posted land Nov. 15 in the town of Diana. He appeared June 4 in Town Court.

■ Christopher B. Kent, 31, Potsdam, paid a $200 fine for having a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle Nov. 30 in the town of Diana. He appeared Dec. 18 in Town Court.

■ Joshua T. Frerichs, 23, Harrisville, paid a $50 fine for using a motor vehicle on state land where it's not permitted May 20 in the town of Diana. He appeared June 4 in Town Court.

■ Frederick G. Warner, 55, Warners, paid a $20 fine for failing to carry a turkey tag while turkey hunting May 21 in the town of New Bremen. He appeared June 10 in Town Court.

JEFFERSON

■ Andrew Ehle, 22, Liverpool, paid a $700 fine for having a loaded firearm on a boat under power Dec. 13 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared March 28 in Town Court.

■ Samuel N. Ziparo III, 26, Liverpool, paid a $450 fine for failing to sign a duck stamp, taking waterfowl with the aid of a boat under power and failing to carry a valid Harvest Information Program confirmation number Dec. 13 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared March 28 in Town Court.

■ Steven W. Wagar, 45, Ellisburg, paid a $400 fine for failing to properly tag deer, failing to properly sign over a Deer Management Permit carcass tag, and two counts of possessing someone else's carcass tags Dec. 2 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared Jan. 7 in Town Court.

■ Terry P. Drake, 41, Chaumont, paid a $100 fine for having an antlerless-only tag on a buck deer Oct. 18 in the town of Brownville. He appeared Oct. 30 in Town Court.

■ Neal J. Smith, 45, Lacona, paid a $75 fine for taking undersize fish Feb. 16 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared March 28 in Town Court.

■ Adam M. Snyder, 34, Mannsville, paid a $75 fine for failing to properly tag deer Dec. 7 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared Feb. 6 in Town Court.

■ Jay M. Augustyn, 19, Croghan, paid a $50 fine for possession of marijuana on state land April 25 in the town of Brownville. He appeared May 5 in Town Court.

■ Jacob A. Conley, 23, Adams, paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license March 17 in the town of Hounsfield. He appeared April 14 in Town Court.

■ Gregory F. Keay Jr., 20, Carthage, paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license May 21 in the town of Wilna. He appeared June 18 in Town Court.

■ Brandon J. McNitt, 22, Mannsville, paid a $50 fine for having more than the legal limit of salmon Oct. 15, 2007, in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared Feb. 19 in Town Court.

■ Cindy L. McNitt, 45, Mannsville, paid a $50 fine for failing to tag deer Oct. 15, 2007, in the town of Ellisburg. She appeared Feb. 19 in Town Court.

■ Michael A. Troy, 51, New City, paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license March 22 in the town of Henderson. He appeared May 4 in Town Court.

■ Andrew B. and Robert R. Woodworth, 18 and 20, respectively, Carthage, each paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license April 2 in the village of Dexter. They appeared June 11 in Village Court.

■ Jaime R. Drake, 50, Theresa, paid a $25 fine for having insufficient personal flotation devices June 13 in the town of Theresa. He appeared June 23 in Town Court.

■ Matthew A. Riehl, 22, Fort Drum, paid a $25 fine for fishing without a license April 4 in the town of Hounsfield. He appeared April 14 in Town Court.

■ David White, 28, Fort Drum, paid a $25 fine for hunting turkey after noon in the spring season May 21 in the town of Wilna. He appeared June 4 in Town Court.
