Michael A. Pistolese, Jr., 76, Route 126, went to his eternal rest, July, 6, 2009, at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse. He had been a patient there since June 24, having been transported from Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
The son of Michael A. Sr. and Rose Verne Pistolese, he was born June 18, 1933, in Watertown at the home of his parents. Mr. Pistolese graduated from Watertown High School in 1952, served in the United States Navy and then studied electrical technology at Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute. He was a draftsman at Black Clawson, Watertown. He had been self employed in various businesses throughout the years, including owning and operating a tavern on Arsenal Street in Watertown, a paving business, a used-car lot, ice cream vending and rental property. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Elks Lodge #496 in Watertown.
He married Mary F. Carlisle, December 29, 1956 at Saint Paul's Catholic Church with Reverend James A. Fix officiating.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Teresa R. Ellingsworth, Watertown, and Maria A. and William Fraser, Lincoln, CA.; a son Michael A. III, Watertown; five grandchildren, Nicole Albrecht, Megan Pistolese, Shonna Fraser, Steven Fraser, Jena Cinanni and two great grandchildren, Marissa Lynn Albrecht and Sophia Rose Albrecht.
Calling hours will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be Friday at 9: 15 at the funeral home followed by a 10 am funeral mass at Saint Anthony's Church with Reverend Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Sanford Corners Cemetery with military honors.
