First there was Rep. Gary Ackerman's crack against the upstate.

"I don't do Utica," the Queens congressman said last year in putting an end to speculation that he might seek the Senate seat left vacant by Hillary Clinton's move to secretary of state.

Now, it's state Sen. Carl Kruger displaying a dismissive attitude.

The Brooklyn Democrat chairs the committee that would review Gov. David A. Paterson's nomination of Jay Walder to head the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He was asked about possible Senate action.

Showing a level of disdain toward upstate, he said: "This week? That's ludicrous. This is the MTA. It's not as if we're confirming somebody to be game warden of the Adirondack Park."
