LOWVILLE — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for vandalism last weekend at the Lowville post office.

Late Saturday or early Sunday, two buildings and nine vehicles — including two postal vehicles parked outside the post office off Parkway Drive — were spray-painted with graffiti, much of it involving vulgarities and references to marijuana.

The damage to the postal vehicles is a federal offense, with violators subject to a fine and up to a year in jail, according to a U.S. Postal Inspection Service release.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lowville Police Department at 376-6511 or the postal inspector at 452-3594.
