10 drivers face alcohol counts

The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Craig L. Cook, 28, no address given, was charged by state police Friday in the town of Fort Covington. His blood alcohol level was 0.13 percent, troopers said. The state's legal threshold for DWI is 0.08 percent BAC.

Mr. Cook also was charged with DWI with a prior conviction in the past 10 years, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and a stop-sign violation. He was arraigned in Fort Covington Town Court and released on $2,500 bail.

■ James P. Francis, 53, of 42 Roosevelt St., Massena, was charged by Massena village police at 11:25 p.m. Saturday on Center Street with felony DWI. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, making an unsafe lane change, crossing hazard markings and a red-light violation. His BAC was not available.

■ Peter J. Christian, 51, Dickinson Center, was charged with aggravated DWI by state police at 1:14 a.m. Sunday after a hit-and-run accident at County Route 27 and Route 3 in the town of Fine. Mr. Christian missed the stop sign at County Route 27, hit a tree head-on across Route 3 and left the scene on foot, troopers said. His BAC was listed as 0.18 percent, which is the state's minimum threshold for aggravated DWI.

■ Otis C. Worsley, 42, of 28 Clay St., Malone, was stopped at 2:28 a.m. Saturday by Massena village police at East Orvis and Glenn streets. Police did not disclose his BAC. Mr. Worsley also was charged with making an unsafe lane change, following too closely, crossing hazard markings, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.

■ Harvey G. Williams, 52, of 4165 Lyons Falls Road, was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies following a 10:43 p.m. accident Saturday on Turin Road, West Turin. Deputies said Mr. Williams crashed his motorcycle, but was not hurt. They said he refused to take a breath test. He was arraigned in Turin Town Court, where he was ordered held at Lewis County jail, Lowville, in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.

■ Lisa A. Kollias, 39, Independence, Ohio, was charged with aggravated DWI after being stopped by Watertown police at 12:29 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Mill Street. Police said her BAC was 0.18 percent. Ms. Kollias was also charged with failure to keep right and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

■ Roger F. Dehart, 41, Westernville, was stopped at 3:05 a.m. Sunday by state police while driving on Odett Road, Greig. Troopers said he refused to take a breath test to determine his level of intoxication. Mr. Dehart also was charged with speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.

■ Darin N. Hirschey, 29, Boonville, was stopped by state police at 9:39 p.m. Saturday while on Blue Street, Martinsburg. His BAC was not available from troopers. Mr. Hirschey also was charged with backing a vehicle unsafely.

■ James J. Turner, 65, Antwerp, was stopped by state police at 2:11 a.m. Sunday while driving on Route 342, LeRay. His BAC was not available from troopers.

■ Candy L. Bush, 30, Watertown, was stopped by state police at 2:38 a.m. Sunday while driving on Route 11, Adams. Her BAC was 0.14 percent, troopers said.
