The Working Families Party appears to be in no rush to endorse a candidate in the 23rd Congressional District race.
"Our members will take a look at the records of all the candidates and endorse the one that we think will fight for working people in Congress," said Dan Levitan, the party's spokesman. He declined further comment.
The party could nominate its own candidate or give its line to a candidate already in the race. The progressive group typically endorses Democrats, but backed Republican nominee Dierdre K. Scozzafava during her Assembly campaigns in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
William L. Owens, Plattsburgh, is the Democratic nominee. Douglas L. Hoffman, Lake Placid, is the Conservative candidate.
