NAME THAT MOVIE ANSWER

The answer to yesterday's Name That Movie is Boogie Nights.

Rose Hare answered correctly.

One-minute review: Boogie Nights is one of my favorite movies. It is the pseudo-true story of porn legend John Holmes, which involves blackmail, murder and lots of drugs. Walberg is sensational as Dirk Digler. Heather Graham as Roller Girl isn't bad either ;-). Check it out, but for mature audiences only.

Top-10 Thursday: Modern Animated Films Adults Can Enjoy

The modern animation age jump-started in the early 1990s with The Nightmare Before Christmas and Toy Story. Ever since cartoons needed to be entertaining for kids and adults alike. You aren't going to find South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut on here since that's just for adults. You aren't going to find Fantasia, Dumbo or Bambi because they're too old. Enjoy and feel free to comment below.

-

10. A Bug's Life - Underrated by my book. I enjoyed it a lot, and it was a better movie than Antz, which is not on the list.

-

9. Meet the Robinsons - Just good fun for everyone.

-

8. Shrek - Classic bits of adult humor that makes kids really question why we're laughing.

-

7. Kung-Fu Panda - This is not everyone's cup of tea. I liked it. It's quite funny and entertaining. I rented it on a recommendation and was not disappointed.

-

6. James and the Giant Peach - This was one of my favorite animated films, albeit claymation, but still fantastic.

-

5. Ratatouille - How can a rat really warm the heart? That's why this comes in at No. 5.

-

4. Finding Nemo - Ellen as the forgetful fish makes this movie hilarious.

-

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas - Again, as it seems every week, the top three separate themselves from the pack. If you decide to rent this, please watch all the DVD extras. It has some of the most interesting "behind the scenes" segments of any DVD I've seen.

-

2. Toy Story - Whaaaaaaa? How can this not be No. 1? Because No. 1 does something no movie, animated or otherwise, has acheived...

-

1. Wall-E - ... and that's keep me totally engrossed without a single word spoken for nearly 20 minutes. The heart and depth to the story in "Wall-E" is remarkable. I think it is probably the main reason the Oscars reverted to the old 10 Best Picture nominations instead of five. People literally cried when Wall-E was not in the Best Picture category. They also cried because Dark Knight wasn't in it either. Those people will never cry again, but this year has been slow, without a knock-you-out movie besides 500 Days of Summer.
