HENDERSON — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department was Wednesday evening investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman.

The initial dispatch of Henderson Ambulance about 5 p.m. to the Gary Cornell residence, 8400 County Route 152, indicated the woman had suffered a large loss of blood.

Sheriff John P. Burns responded to the scene after Detective Maurice Guidrey requested assistance. The detective said he was uncomfortable with the scene, and wanted a thorough investigation.

A representative of the Jefferson County medical examiner's office also responded.
