FORT DRUM — Two 10th Mountain Division soldiers from Fort Drum died Thursday in Afghanistan.

Pfc. Brian M. Wolverton, 21, of Oak Park, Calif., was killed by indirect fire in Kunar Province, according to a Fort Drum release.

Spc. Justin Pellerin, 21, of Concord, N.H., also was killed in Afghanistan Thursday, according to WMUR-TV in Manchester.

Pfc. Wolverton was an infantryman with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.

He joined the Army in January, arrived at Fort Drum in June and joined the 3rd Brigade Combat Team in August. He is survived by his parents.

Spc. Pellerin's wife, Chelsey, told WMUR that her husband was deployed to Afghanistan in January, six months after the couple was married. She said he was killed by improvised explosive device.
