10th soldier in Afghanistan is killed in vehicle rollover

FORT DRUM — A 10th Mountain Division soldier died in Afghanistan last Friday when his vehicle rolled over in Wardak Province.

Cpl. Darby T. Morin, 25, was a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team. Originally from Victoria, British Columbia, the soldier joined the Army in March 2004 and came to Fort Drum in April 2008.

Cpl. Morin's awards include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Combat Action Badge. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

He is the 23rd soldier with the 3rd Brigade to die in Afghanistan since the unit deployed in January.
