Four charged with DWI in separate incidents in region

The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Scott A. Summers, 43, of 14335 Route 11, Adams, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies with aggravated DWI about 9 p.m. Monday on Route 11 in the town of Adams.

Police allege his blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more. He also was charged with driving across hazard markings.

■ Matthew C. Clouthier, 31, of 97 Catherine St., Potsdam, also was charged Tuesday with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle when he was stopped on Old Parishville-Potsdam Road in the town of Parishville, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said. He registered a 0.16 percent BAC, police said.

■ Shawn E. Mackey, 36, of 729 Pickering St., Ogdensburg, was charged Monday with aggravated DWI and speeding following a one-car accident on County Route 28A in the town of Lisbon, state police said. He registered a 0.18 percent BAC, police said.

■ Daniel J. Strough, 47, Alexandria Bay, was charged by state police at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 81 in the town of Alexandria. Police said he refused a blood alcohol test. He also was charged with speeding.
