A Missouri woman who cut her knee on broken glass on a nightclub's dance floor has filed suit against the club and medical personnel who treated the injury.

Christine M. Sclesky-Nichols, Halfway, Mo., filed a state Supreme Court action Tuesday at the Jefferson County clerk's office against Poor Richard's tavern, its owner, Gary F. Gerken, Samaritan Medical Center and two Samaritan employees, Dr. Philip A. Chafe and physician assistant Michelle Ederer.

Mrs. Sclesky-Nichols claims she was dancing at Poor Richard's, 1309 State St., on July 13, 2008, when she fell onto broken glass, injuring her left knee. She claims to have suffered "severe and permanent" injury.

She contends that Poor Richard's was negligent by, among other things, failing to ensure that the dance floor was clear of dangerous debris. She claims medical personnel were negligent by, among other things, failing to properly diagnose and treat a cut patellar tendon.

She claims to have incurred medical expenses, lost wages and lost earning capacity. The suit does not specify an amount being sought in damages. She is represented by attorney Michael A. Bottar, Syracuse.
