Man pleads guilty to rape of girl, 14

A Fort Drum man admitted Friday in Jefferson County Court that he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in July.

Dwayne R. Jordan,22, formerly of Tamarack Drive, West Carthage, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. He is expected to be sentenced Nov. 13 to time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and probation supervision. He also will have to register with the state as a sex offender, according to the contemplated sentence outlined in court.

He admitted he had intercourse with the girl July 2 in West Carthage. A charge that he possessed a handgun without a valid pistol permit was dismissed upon his plea to the rape charge.

In other court activity Friday:

Timothy W. Youngs Jr.,19, Three Mile Bay, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to a year in the PSB, with credit for an unspecified amount of time served. He was serving three years' probation imposed in April for a March guilty plea to fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He had been accused in December of selling prescription pills to a female in the cafeteria of Lyme Central School, Chaumont. He admitted violating probation by leaving a residential substance abuse treatment program against advice.

Cyd M. Mercado,23, Brooklyn, was sentenced to time served and five years' probation for a July 6 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. She admitted at the time of the plea she assisted others in selling heroin in September 2006 in Watertown. Her probation supervision will be transferred to New York City.

Kyle W. Matthews,21, Fort Drum, was sentenced to three years' probation for a July 10 guilty plea to third-degree assault. He and three others were accused of taking part in the March 18 beating of Michael S. Farmer outside Pewter Mug tavern, 1313 State St., where Mr. Farmer was working as a bouncer.

Scott P. Comins,32, Camden, formerly of Carthage, was sentenced to time served and three years' probation for July 8 guilty pleas to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He also was fined $1,000 and had his driver's license revoked. He was accused of DWI and driving without a license April 16 on South James Street in Carthage.

Matthew C. Martin,26, Centre Hall, Pa., pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to time served and a one-year conditional discharge. He also paid $1,880 in restitution. He admitted that he used another man's credit card without authorization to rent two vehicles.

Adam B. Fugate,24, Watertown, was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge for a July 10 guilty plea to fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was accused of breaking a charcoal grill and glass-top table during a May 28 argument with his wife.

Amber N. Heath,23, of 21418 Weaver Road, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for Nov. 9. She admitted she sold cocaine in mid-March in Watertown.

Justin A. Tanner,19, of 31097 Route 11, Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. Sentencing was set for Nov. 9. He admitted entering a vehicle in Watertown on July 13 and stealing compact discs.
