Owens in the flesh

Bill Owens has a reputation for being a low-profile candidate, so this is welcome news.

The Democratic congressional candidate is holding a meet and greet at 10 a.m. Saturday at 241 State St., his new Watertown headquarters.

I'm going to be in South Bend this weekend, but I encourage anyone who wants an unfiltered look at Mr. Owens to attend. Be sure to ask him to answer the questions you have on your mind. (Be polite.)

Mr. Owens' headquarters was the longtime home of C.R. Allen Office Products and the former location of World Class Tae Kwon Do. It's a few doors down from the old Jefferson County Democratic Party headquarters, and just a short walk from Dede Scozzafava's campaign office, which hasn't had a formal opening yet.
