Man faces several counts

after domestic incident

A Watertown man is facing a slew of charges following a domestic incident that allegedly took place Saturday night in his apartment.

Raymond T. Iyalla, 26, of 715 State St., allegedly held Alicea Y. Tansmore, of 206 Franklin St., Apt. 301, against her will, choked her and stole a cell phone she was using to call police. He is charged with mischief, petit larceny, third-degree assault and third-degree robbery.

Mr. Iyalla was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in City Court. Police records indicate Ms. Tansmore is seeking an order of protection against him.

Sandy Creek man jailed

after fight with woman

SANDY CREEK — A man was jailed Thursday night after he punched his former girlfriend in the face in the presence of her 10-year-old son, according to state police.

Daryl F. Keller, 41, Sandy Creek, was arraigned in town of Richland Court on charges of third-degree trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. With bail set at $500, he was sent to Oswego County jail, Oswego.

He additionally broke the youth's BB gun during the Thursday evening incident, police alleged.

Man accused of harassing

woman via text messages

HENDERSON — James E. Bonds, 35, of 13185 County Route 123, was charged Thursday by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department with aggravated harassment.

Mr. Bonds awaits prosecution on allegations that between Sept. 18 and Thursday he sent several unwanted text messages to Shannon Davis, Route 3, according to the sheriff's office.

Castorland man facing

sexual-abuse charges

LOWVILLE — Lewis County sheriff's deputies on Thursday charged Charles M. Elliott, 35, Castorland, with third-degree sexual abuse and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Elliott on Sept. 18 "engaged in unwanted sexual contact" with a woman in the town of Lowville, according to deputies. He is to appear in Lowville Town Court.

Woman accused of hiding

wanted person in home

HARRISBURG — A woman police say was hiding a wanted individual was charged herself Saturday.

Lewis County sheriff's deputies charged Teresa M. Sweeney, 41, Beetle Road, with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. Ms. Sweeney hid the unnamed wanted person in her home while knowing a warrant was out for the person's arrest, police said. She was issued a ticket to appear in Harrisburg Town Court.
