Madrid resident charged

with mischief, larceny

MADRID — State police arrested a Madrid man for allegedly breaking a television and a mirror following a domestic dispute.

Christopher L. Rookey, 26, of 1730 Route 345, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny at 8 p.m. Friday at the home of Dionne R. Middlemiss, 31, of 54 North St. Ms. Middlemiss also said Mr. Rookey stole the SIM card from her phone, police said.

Man accused of violating

ex-wife's protection order

CANTON — Village police arrested Marcus O. Sherburne, 40, of 89 E. Main St., on Saturday on a charge of first-degree criminal contempt.

Police allege that on Friday, Mr. Sherburne violated an order of protection issued by a Canton village judge by initiating contact with his ex-wife. He was issued a ticket to appear in Village Court.

Clifton Springs ATV rider

hurt in 2-vehicle accident

A Clifton Springs man was treated for unspecified injuries after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating Saturday afternoon struck another ATV along County Route 96 in the town of Worth, according to Jefferson County sheriff's deputies.

Andrew M. Kuhn, 31, allegedly became distracted and struck the back tire of an ATV driven by Jeffrey M. Stout, 31, Victor.

Mr. Kuhn's ATV overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle, deputies said. He was taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, by the South Jefferson Ambulance Squad.

No tickets were issued.

Pair accused of harboring

son wanted for arrest

CARTHAGE — A husband and wife unlawfully harbored their son, despite knowing that a warrant had been issued for his arrest, Jefferson County sheriff's deputies allege.

William S. Spellan, 54, of 30124 Route 3, Lot 11, Black River, and Lisa L. Plantz, 43, of 23482 Mosher Road, Carthage, both were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration.

Deputies allege that on April 12, the couple picked up their son — who is a juvenile — from a residence in the city of Watertown, brought him back to Mr. Spellan's residence and returned him to the city later that day. They were arrested Tuesday by deputies and issued tickets to appear in Rutland Town Court.

Martinsburg man accused

of violating court order

LOWVILLE — Timothy E. Pomerville, 43, Martinsburg, was charged by village police with second-degree criminal contempt Saturday on South State Street.

He is accused of violating an order of protection issued on an unspecified date by a Lewis County Family Court judge.

He was issued a ticket to appear in Lowville Village Court.
