Reagan group likes Hoffman

Citizens for the Republic, a federal political action committee that supports candidates that uphold Ronald Reagan's principles of limited government, maximum freedom and personal responsibility, have announced their support of Doug Hoffman.

Mr. Hoffman, a Lake Placid accountant, is the Conservative Party's candidate in the 23rd Congressional District.

The Alexandria, Va.-based group said Mr. Hoffman "shares the common sense conservative principles of New York's 23rd district" - including, apparently, being anti-abortion, pro-tradditional marriage and pro-Second Ammendment.

The candidate's "experience as a successful small business owner, and understanding that liberal tax and spend policies kill jobs and economic growth, will make him a valuable voice for New Yorkers and all Americans in the U.S. House of Representatives," the group said.

Interestingly, the group was formed in 1977 by Mr. Reagan himself.
