Dede Scozzafava was endorsed Tuesday by her Republican colleagues who serve the north country in the state Senate and state Assembly: Betty Little, Janet Duprey and Teresa Sayward.
These one-party-member-endorses-another endorsements are expected, just as we're not surprised when Darrel Aubertine backs Bill Owens.
I'd imagine we'll hear soon from Joe Griffo, Will Barclay and Addie Russell soon too.
Here are the good parts of the press release:
Little: "Dede and I have been friends for many years and I know she will do an outstanding job following in John McHugh's footsteps by providing this district great representation in Washington. When we served together in the Assembly, I saw how Dede earned the respect of her colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Her commitment, concern and professionalism have always been apparent. She understands our North Country needs and she has the ability to get results. We need someone who can hit the ground running the day after Election Day. That person is Dede."
Duprey: "Having worked closely with Dede on many issues important to the North Country, I firmly believe we need to elect Dede Scozzafava to Congress to ensure our region has a loud and distinct voice in Washington. Dede is principled and will put our interests first. Electing Dede will ensure our region is represented with diligence, class and integrity, and I enthusiastically offer my endorsement."
Sayward: "Dede is a principled leader who will stand by her convictions and North Country families. She has a proven record of fighting for jobs and she will keep fighting for us in Congress. Dede has my fullest endorsement in her candidacy for the 23rd Congressional District."
