Flanagan Redshirts

Kyle Flanagan confirmed Sunday that his brother, Sean, is taking a medical redshirt this season.

Sean's hip injury last season required surgery, and although he has recovered, feels his leg isn't quite strong enough yet to play.

Kyle said his brother struggled with the decision but that ultimately it was better to fully heal than try to play not at 100 percent.

Sean Flanagan has eight goals and 26 assists in 86 games for the Saints. Last year, he played injured through most of his 22 games, missing 11 of the team's final 15 games.
