Doug Hoffman, the Conservative candidate for the 23rd Congressional District, launched a new TV ad this morning, touting his fiscal conservatism.

"Fight Back," a 30-second spot produced by Nelson Warfield, is Mr. Hoffman's first attempt to introduce himself to voters. Up to this point, the television commercials made on his behalf have been exclusively about his opponents, Dede Scozzafava and Bill Owens.

A Siena poll released last week shows Mr. Hoffman is unknown by almost three-quarters of potential voters - and 81 percent said they hadn't seen one of his ads.

This advertisement, which is running district-wide, should help improve those numbers.

"There's something going on today. Politicians don't understand it. But Americans are fighting back. That's why conservative Republican Doug Hoffman is running for Congress. He'll fight for strict term limits, reject pork barrel spending, oppose - - and refuse - - any pay hike for Congress. Army veteran, businessman, NRA member, Hoffman will take our conservative values to Washington. Fight back. Hoffman for Congress. I'm Doug Hoffman and I approved this ad."
