The Saints have another tough game tonight against Army in the consolation game of the University of Nebraska-Omaha IceBreaker Tournament.

The puck drops at 5:35 p.m. ET.

Army was not a good team last year, but they hung in with UNO in the first round. The Black Knights came up short, 6-4. They did do something the Saints could, and that's score.

St. Lawrence was blanked by No. 11 UMass-Lowell, 3-0, despite outshooting the River Hawks. Overall, the game wasn't a total loss as coach Joe Marsh pointed out that the younger players really impressed him.

That didn't equate to a win. SLU has a better chance against Army.

The Black Knights won only 11 games last year. Owen Meyer led Army last season with 33 points on 19 goals and 14 assists. Eric Sefchik had 29 points, and Cody Omilusik supplied 27.

Against the Mavericks, four different players scored. Mike Hull notched a short-handed goal to start the scoring. Then Marcel Alvarez, Omilusik and Andy Starczewski followed with goals. Army enjoyed a brief lead at 4-3 before UNO scored three unanswered in the third period.

St. Lawrence is going to have to find some better goal-scoring chances to beat the Black Knights. Against, Lowell, SLU took 24 shots, almost none of them really threatened to get by the goalie.

SLU goalie Alex Petizian gave made 19 saves in 21 chances (one of UML's goals game on an empty net).

Army's netminder is almost as good. Jay Clark saved 91.2 percent of shots last year. He gave up all five to UNO, which took 29 shots on goal.

I will be covering the Syracuse University football game today and will try to listen to as much of the game as I can when I get back. I'll probably miss most of the first period. I'll have more thoughts and comments later tonight. St. Lawrence is now 0-1 overall.
