CLAYTON — The Thousand Islands Land Trust has been accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, making it one of eight accredited land trusts out of 90 in New York. There are 82 accredited land trusts, out of 1,700, nationwide.
The accreditation commission is an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance.
Accredited land trusts are able to display a seal indicating that they meet national standards for excellence and uphold the public trust and that conservation efforts are permanent.
