In 2003 I made contact with Assemblyperson Dierdre Scozzafava regarding the shambled condition of our state's mental health program. I sent her my report outlining the decades of struggles my family has had with the state Department of Mental Hygiene in regard to their longtime mishandling of my brother's mental health care. I got no response.
In February 2008, Rep. Maurice Hinchey very graciously wrote Assemblywoman Scozzafava on my behalf asking her to contact me to address my concerns. I have not heard from her or any of her staff.
Assemblywoman Scozzafava says she looks forward to hearing from her constituents regarding health care matters. She says she is concerned about "hard-working families and seniors." Her lack of action shows me she does not care about the health and safety of her constituents.
