The Public Service Commission will hold informational sessions and public hearings on the application for a 50.6-mile transmission line for the proposed Galloo Island Wind Farm. The project needs a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need from the commission. The line would run from the wind farm on Galloo Island to the Fitzpatrick-Edic substation in the town of Mexico.

The forums will run for an hour, followed by the public hearings. They will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Henderson Community Hall, 8939 Route 178; 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at Belleville Henderson Central School, 8372 County Route 75; 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at Barclay Court House, 1 Jefferson St., Pulaski; and 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Pulaski Junior-Senior High School, 4624 Salina St.

Following the hearing on the morning of Nov. 16, a prehearing conference will also be held to establish a schedule for litigation and address issues on service, party participation, discovery and whether the facility is a National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor.
