POTSDAM — The Board of Education has hired a town of Parishville native to serve the dual role of dean of students and athletic director.

Mark A. Wilson, a physical education teacher at LaFayette Central School District in Onondaga County, will assume duties at Potsdam in November. He will be paid a starting annual salary of $55,000.

Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School and received his bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in athletic administration from the State University of New York at Brockport.

Mr. Wilson has been hired on a three-year probationary period, the terms of which can be re-negotiated annually, according to Superintendent Patrick A. Brady, who said the contract is routine for administrators.
