Robert Schneider

BOONVILLE — Robert Schneider, 58, of East Road passed away at home on October 13, 2009 surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on November 23, 1950 in Lowville a son of Francis and Genevieve Niezabytoski Schneider. He grew up on East road and graduated from South Lewis High School in 1969. On September 9, 1972 he was united in marriage with Suzanne Ward at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. Robert operated the family farm on East Road until 1986 when the Barn was destroyed by a fire. He drove log trucks for many years and more recently was employed with Schue Bros. of Port Leyden. He was a member of Elks club, Boonville and enjoyed Nascar, Fishing, Hunting, Four Wheeling and spending time with family.

Surviving are his wife Suzanne; one son and daughter-in-law Rob and Ashley Schneider, Port Leyden; two daughters and sons-in-law Stacy and Ryan Battles, Port Leyden; Lisa and Jason Overton, Castorland; three grand children, Camryn Battles and Carly and Aubree Overton; one sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Bruno Graziano, Remsen; Brothers and sisters-in-law; Mother-in-law Jean Ward, Lyons Falls; two aunts, one uncle, cousins and several nieces and nephews

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday October 16, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Martin's Church Port Leyden, with Fr. Stephen Gratto Officiating. Interment will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4-8 PM on Thursday at Mills Funeral Home 301 Post St. Boonville. Memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Assoc. or Lewis County Hospice 7785 N.
