U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Fla., will stop at Phoebe's Restaurant, Canton, on Saturday in support of Dede Scozzafava, the Republican and Independence parties candidate for the 23rd Congressional District.

The event is currently slated for around 8:15 a.m., according to Scozzafava's campaign.

Ms. Collins will be in town to speak at the inauguration of William L. Fox, St. Lawrence University's new president. The Maine senator is a 1975 graduate of the university and Mr. Fox's former classmate.

She is the ranking member and former chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs committee, and is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
